Our economy is a primarily agrarian one. Agriculture is the foremost profession in which a majority of our population is involved. Crop Production, Procurement of High Yielding Variety Seeds, and Continuous Flow of Farming Equipment from the manufacturer to the wholesaler is the important cause behind the development of agriculture in the country.
Although Agriculture laid the basic foundation of growth, the shift of the country's income contribution strata has shifted from primary to the secondary and tertiary sectors. Thus the banking and the other informal sectors of the economy are also contributing to the same proportion of agriculture and occupy a much higher rung among the components of GDP distribution.
